Sarah Palin finally remembers the other guy killed in shooting that took the life of Chris Kyle, and then does what she does best, ask for money. Update!

It was a beautiful memorial service for Chris Kyle at Cowboys Stadium this afternoon. What a celebration of a great life! All in all, is there a finer human being who has crossed the 50-yard line star in Texas than Chris Kyle? Just in case you don't think that Palin reads here, or other places that blog about her, the inclusion of Chad Littlefield's name should put those doubts to rest.

Personally I don't find much wrong with her ghostwriter's description of the service, and think that using her grifting skills to raise money for the families is the right thing to do as well.

It might have been seen as a more generous gesture if the link that she provided did not take you to Bristol's blog however. But hey, baby steps right?

You know one of the things that I think we have not discussed is what this sudden appearance at a public event (She did show up, right?) signifies. We have been wondering what Palin would do now that she has lost her Fox News gig and I think that this move to gain visibility by attending this well publicized funeral was her first attempt to test the waters and see who was paying attention and how it was received.

I do NOT think that she is planning to disappear altogether, and though her political career is over, her ability to draw attention and cause controversy is not.

In fact there are some who are SO interested that they even make the mistake of jumping at fake news about Palin and covering it as if it were the real thing:

“The Sarah Palin Story is a cautionary tale about what can happen when politics and celebrity meet,” begins Washington Post contributor Suzi Parker’s profile of Sarah Palin’s move from Fox News Channel to the future cable news network Al Jazeera English. “Late last week Al Jazeera America announced the former vice-presidential candidate would be joining their news network.” 

The only problem with Parker’s scoop is that the news of Palin’s move comes from the comedy news site The Daily Currant, which recently published a wide-ranging “interview” with Palin about her lateral career move. The Daily Currant describes itself as “the global satirical newspaper of record.”

(Suzi Parker has since altered her article.) That kind of thing indicates that the longer Palin stays out of the media spotlight, the more interesting she becomes to certain people and they will at some point happily jump through her hoops to get an exclusive interview with her and report on Sarah Palin 3.0.

That may irritate those of us who believe that Palin has long ago overstayed her welcome on the 15 minutes of fame train, but it is what it is.

However I would venture to say that Palin will never again be considered anyone of substance and her opinions will mostly be viewed as the inflammatory attempts of a has been to garner some attention from a media who she has aggressively insulted in the past while desperately seeking their approval. Personally I think that once she bursts back onto the scene they will quickly lose interest after the first few perfunctory articles acknowledging her return, and she will quickly fade away yet again, this time perhaps for good.

Though considering her recent weight loss she may in fact fade away from this reality even before her fame has had the chance to dissipate completely.

Update: It looks like somebody is very excited about being noticed.
